Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. Actresses have a long history of working on Broadway off-Broadway, Broadway and various productions. The actress has had a passion for acting from the time she started high school. Her first role in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. She was born deaf in the one ear after suffering from Mumps, but she didn't allow this handicap to hinder her desire to be an actor. In her early years, she took classes in drama at college before moving into New York City from Pittsburgh to follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she became stuck in an elevator alongside the playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. She landed one as an actress supporting the main character in Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in numerous films and TV movies and series over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
