Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career in acting started on Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. From the time she was a child she's been passionate in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. She became deaf in one ear due to mumps but did not permit this to deter her desire to be an actress. When she was a teenager, she was a drama student in university and later moved in New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could pursue her ambitions. After a casual encounter, she found herself in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find film roles. A supporting role was added to her resume for her in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in numerous films and television series and movies over a career spanning more than a quarter century. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
